Sous Chef

Café Nordo is looking for a professional Sous Chef immediately to be second in command to our Executive Chef Erin Brindley, Seattle Weekly's Best Chef 2018. The successful candidate will manage a team of five employees in our kitchen, source regional and local ingredients, and cook four to five courses of a prix-fixe menu for an audience of 60 - all timed in perfect choreography to the theatrical show corresponding with the menu - and maintain a pristine kitchen.

A cool head and a warm disposition is a must, no macho kitchen attitudes need apply. The menu for our dinner theater changes entirely seven times a year to correspond with the show and music happening. Creativity, ability to think under pressure and a knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergens is paramount. This is a full time salaried position, Wednesday - Sunday.  We are also on the hunt for Dishwasher extraordinaire! We are seeking a food-loving, reliable and overall awesome Dishwasher to join our unique kitchen team. Must have some kitchen experience and be able to lift 30+ lbs. Experience or interest in theatre a plus! The position will run Thursday-Sunday with the occasional Wednesday. Hours are approximately 7:00pm-12am.

Volunteers are at the heart and backbone of Cafe Nordo. Our team of dedicated volunteers help us with prepping and plating in the kitchen and checking in guests at the door. Volunteers earn complimentary tickets to Cafe Nordo Productions and get to experience the crazy artistic madness that happens in our Culinarium. It is a fast-paced, pressure-cooker of a time- join us!
