pressure cooker: Sundown at the Devil's House
Cafe Nordo's new works program features original and innovative productions by emerging producers, directors and artists. Nordo's Pressure Cooker series fosters the creation of work that bends the genres of dinner theatre and performance, and pushes the limits of experimental theatre.
Sundown is a capricious and fantastical pieces of anarchic theatre, live music, and strange goings-on that sinuously interlaces into a story about the Devil's love for music and mankind.
This year's play is Sundown at the Devil's House, written and directed by Eddie DeHais. It's the Devil's last night on Earth, and she and her cohorts will titillate, beguile, and entertain the audience with stories of the Devil's greatest triumphs and darkest secrets.
With a food menu created by Nordo chef Erin Brindley, music by Aaron Joshua Shay of The Mongrel Jews, and designs by local favorites, Zane Exactly, Cami Funk, Chris Leher, and Carolina Johnson, this evening promises to be a thrilling, unusual, and fun night of theater.
Eddie DeHais is an innovative storyteller who creates rich, visually-stunning work that examines humanity at its core. She is joined in this endeavor by the stellar cast of Christine Shaw White, Kai Curtis, Alyza Delpan-Monley, Cody Smith, and Mahria Zook.
